La Rencontre interview - online

Madonna has dinner with a mystery man in NY

NY Post

Guy Oseary Answers 10 questions from fans

Madonna's Official Fan Club - Icon

1) Would you consider an Asian leg for Madonna's next tour?
Madonna loves Asia and definitely would love to go back.

2) What are the plans, if any, for a Sticky & Sweet Tour DVD/CD Release? Will it include a tour documentary?
We plan on having the DVD/CD come out in the fall, hopefully in November. Nathan Rissman shot hours and hours of b-roll. We will edit it down and definitely include highlights in the DVD.

3) Now that Madonna has decided to extend her "Sticky and Sweet" tour, is there any chance for her to release a 4th single off her 'Hard Candy' album?
I don't see that happening.

4) Could you tell us more about the new Greatest Hits to be released by Warner Bros? Will it include unreleased tracks? Is there a release date available?
We are trying to get two new tracks on the album. But not sure if they should be "never before heard" gems, or simply start from scratch. She is thinking about doing something dance and up tempo, so stay tuned....

5) Will this summer's show be the exact same as last year's? Will Madonna make some changes to the set list, costumes?
Mostly it will be the same, with an added surprise song to the show. Again, stay tuned.

7) What is your best memory with Madonna?
My best memory? Too many to mention. I've been with Madonna for over half my life. My favorite moments are when we are alone, taking a walk through the countryside together or having dinner together. I do have fond memories of when I first became friends with Madonna. I was such a kid who knew so little , yet she took my hand and showed me the world. It's been an amazing ride.

8.) Do you know what Madonna thinks of her fan club and all of her devoted fans there?
She loves her fans. Honestly everything she does she considers her fans. I can give you an example from tour -
When she did the L.A. Dodger Stadium show the whole front of the stage broke the night before the show. We almost cancelled. When I said "don't worry, everything will be fine no one will care", she responded "no my fans will care, they notice everything!" She doesn't want to do anything less than amazing for her fans. But at the same time, she didn't want to let down her fans by canceling the show, so at 9 pm the night before, she said the show must go on. All these decisions are always made with the fans in mind. She has seen many of Iconers showing up at each show and she really appreciates it - you know who you are!

9) Will Madonna release some unreleased songs or demos from her past albums at some point?
At some point, would love to do something amazing with the remixes and demos. Thanks to you guys for many of your suggestions on this, they are all being considered.

10) Why wasn't Australia included in the tour itinerary and will she visit Australia anytime soon?
Madonna really needs to go to Australia!! Its a must...and I'm going to do everything I can to make sure we get there next time Madonna tours. Unfortunately it didn't work out for this tour. She appreciates her Aussie fans coming to many of the shows. Israel never missed one show in Europe or South America and he waved his Australian flag at every single show. We are long over due for a trip down under and apologize for that, it will happen.

More tickets for West Harbour to be released

Madonna Tribe

Up to 5,000 extra tickets are about to be made available for Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour gig in Helsinki, according to reports from local newspaper Helsingin Sanomat.

"Just when you thought they were all gone (or alternatively just as you were about to sell yours for a profit), it appears that yet more tickets will be added for pop diva Madonn's August gig in Helsinki", the newspaper says.

"We are currently looking into the matter with the authorities, but I would imagine that around five thousand extra tickets will become available", estimates promoter Risto Juvonen from Live Nation.
"The concert area could hold a much larger crowd, but the entry and exit routes set the limits."

Madonna will perform in Helsinki's Jätkäsaari on August 6th. So far over 80,000 tickets have been made available for the concert, which sold out very quickly amid reports of chaos and snafus at street and online outlets. Live Nation Finland is also the promoter of another Sticky & Sweet Tour event in the Baltic country of Estonia, where Madonna will perform on August 4.

Madonna's Greatest Hits Album to Include New Songs

People

Calling all Madonna fans! The Queen of Pop is coming out with a long-awaited greatest hits collection this fall.

'We're hoping to have a greatest hits package come out in September," the singer's longtime publicist, Liz Rosenberg, tells PEOPLE. "We're all very excited about it."

With so many hit songs to choose from over her long career, the singer's manager, Guy Oseary, asked fans on Twitter Tuesday which tunes they think should be included. "Working on Madonna's greatest hits album," he wrote. "Any tracks that you think MUST be on?"

Still, the new album won't only feature songs her fans know and love. "Madonna does have plans to go into the studio to record a few new songs for this album," says Rosenberg.

Liz Smith: Hot, Younger Sex Partners and the Eternal Double Standard

wowowow

“You never see a man walking down the street with a woman who has a little pot belly and a bald spot,” says comic Elayne Boosler.

——————————

Now look, when you are 50 years old and still toned and firm – and when you are rich and also one of the most powerful and successful stories in worldwide show business – is it any wonder you can pick up a handsome 22-year-old for fun and games?

Yes, yes – I’m talking again about Madonna and Jesus Luz and their still-sizzling romance.

But first, why shouldn’t Madonna do what men have been doing for years – centuries, in fact? (That is, get successful and rich and start dating younger and younger and sexier and prettier – or handsomer – partners?)

What I really want to ask you about is a recent "gotcha" photo which shows Madonna holding her adopted son, David Banda, by the hand, with Jesus Luz right behind her, and they are actually leaving kabbalah services in New York on a Sunday.

I want to ask: When was the last time you saw a paparazzi photo of a big star emerging from church, synagogue or mosque? They come twirling out of chauffeured cars, out of Starbucks, out of movie premieres on the red carpet. They trip out of discos, bars, saloons and night clubs. But very few have I ever seen emerging from anywhere in a full blast of spirituality.

Now, yes – Jesus Luz did leave his girlfriend, Krishna Siqueira, for Madonna. But he still talks to Krishna and recently told her that he is in a great phase of his life right now. So, OK – Jesus got Madonna and he got a ready-made family and he also got religion. I love it!

——————————

The flip-side P.S. to the above is that nobody believes M and Jesus are in any way serious. This and her alleged “romance” with 33-year-old baseball star Alex Rodriguez seem to be classic rebounds from a nine-year marriage with director Guy Ritchie. Madonna wasn’t feeling the love, to say the least! (She has been startlingly candid to friends as to just how underappreciated she felt throughout that wedlock.)

Unfortunately, aside from the eternal double standard, there is the fact that Madonna has worked so relentlessly at being “strong” that she does not generate much sympathy or empathy. She behaves as if she doesn’t care. Or maybe she just doesn’t know.

Because nobody’s saying, “You go, girl.” Or even placing her atop the current list of luscious “cougars.” No, the general reaction out there, even among devoted fans is … please stop. Cut your hair. Gain weight. Be the gorgeous and glamorous 50-year-old you can be, not some wiry ersatz version of yourself 25 years ago. Revamp your act, so it can go on for another … 50 years! (She is supreme among concert attractions, still.)

And there is the matter of her three children, specifically 12-year-old Lourdes, who is already a beauty. Perhaps Madonna has wise and reasonable kabbalah-tinged conversations with her daughter, and they are simpatico with the issue of Mama’s friends. But from the outside looking in, it’s … Lana Turner time.

A-Rod mentions M in interview to Details magazine

Men Style

Shot by Steven Klein

The night before his life changes forever, Alex Rodriguez calls from Miami with an urgent request. A-Rod is worried about something he said during our interview last night. I've been hearing mysterious warnings all afternoon: Alex needs to talk. Alex wants to clarify something. Can't say what. Alex will call you from his car.

"Listen," Rodriguez says. "I was thinking about one thing that I spoke about—it's something that's kind of trivial but will give me a hard time for no reason." He pauses. "The song."

Aha. Last night, he let slip his favorite Madonna song. The curious relationship between A-Rod and the pop icon makes for delicious gossip, of course. Is Rodriguez terrified that Madonna will resent the tongue-wagging? Or, better still, has he picked the wrong song as his favorite, and fears that an offended Madge might march her stilettos over his back? No: Rodriguez believes that revealing the song would lead to its being played every time he stepped to the plate during an away game. "The last thing I want to do is go to every stadium and have them play that song," he says. Fine—to be honest, it's not even a great Madonna song (if it had been something juicy like "Justify My Love," forget it).

Looking back, his preoccupation seems surreal. Just the day before, Selena Roberts, a reporter from Sports Illustrated, had confronted Rodriguez at a Miami gym, asking for his reaction to evidence that he'd tested positive for illegal steroids in 2003. And now here he was, sweating a Madonna song. It's like worrying about the in-flight movie as your plane is belly flopping on the Hudson River.

Maybe Rodriguez is in denial. He's just spent the afternoon happily posing for the cover shoot for this story, showing off his strapping physique and loosening up with shots of Patrón. His pals talk of continuing the party nearby, at the remodeled Fontainebleu hotel. When he calls later there's no panic in his voice, no foreshadowing of the humiliation that he, at least, knows is coming. It really is as though his biggest concern in the world is that Madonna song. That fear is misdirected anyhow: Like an opposing team's ballpark needs any inspiration to crank up a Madonna song when A-Rod comes to the plate. Velvet-vested organists have been practicing the entire Ciccone oeuvre for months.

"He is so misunderstood," says Rodriguez's friend and manager Guy Oseary, who has worked with Madonna for more than two decades. "He really hasn't had the chance to show people who he really is."

It must mean something that Rodriguez seems more eager to talk about Madonna. His relationship with the 50-year-old pop priestess has been a "Page Six" staple for months, though there's been no confirmation of its exact nature. "Well, we're friends," Rodriguez says. "She's an amazing entertainer. And it's been amazing how she's been able to stay on top for three decades. I have a lot of respect for her." He says he's enjoyed their conversations, and her counsel. "She's very smart," he says, "and she's passionate about everything she does." Rodriguez can't name anything specific he's asked Madonna for advice on, "but if there ever was any situation, she's a great ear to have, you know?"

Their meeting was not, as some have speculated, arranged by Oseary, who represents them both. "I met her about 12 years ago in Miami, believe it or not," he says. "That's how we know each other. I was trying to buy her house, and I couldn't afford it."

Madonna may adopt another child from Malawi

Reuters

LILONGWE - U.S. pop star Madonna has said she may adopt another child from the poor southern African country of Malawi despite the controversy surrounding an earlier adoption.

Critics accused the government of skirting laws that ban non-residents from adopting children in Malawi, which has been badly hit by the AIDS epidemic, after Madonna took on David Banda.

"Many people -- especially our Malawian friends -- say that David should have a Malawian brother or sister," she said in response to emailed questions from Malawi's the Nation newspaper.

"It's something I have been considering, but would only do, if I had the support of the Malawian people and the Government."

A Malawian court approved the adoption of David last year.

Madonna has said the controversy had been difficult to deal with but she was happy to be involved in a case that might pave the way for more adoptions in Malawi. An estimated one million children in the country have been orphaned by AIDS.

Madonna, who began adoption proceedings in 2006, took David when he was 13-months-old after his father had placed him in an orphanage following the death of his wife.

David is growing up in the high-flying life of a leading popstar, worlds away from his village of Lipunga, where Banda's relatives eat staple food like maize meal from simple bowls and meals are cooked on open fires.

Madonna said she wanted to keep him connected to his homeland.

"It is a big priority for me to educate my son about the world, but always to stay connected to his Malawian culture," she said.

"He has a big map of Africa in his room with lots of arrows pointing to Malawi."

Madonna said her divorce from film director Guy Ritchie would not deprive their children of either parent.

"I believe in family. So, everything between us is very amicable ... we both agree that our children should always feel a deep connection with both their parents. It is our responsibility to give them that foundation," she said.

People

The singer's rep Liz Rosenberg echoes her sentiment, telling PEOPLE, "Madonna has stated many times that she'd love to adopt again."

Madonna to perform at the Zaragoza Fair on July 25

Madonna Tribe

The third Sticky & Sweet Tour stop in Spain seems more and more close to an announcement as Ticketmaster.es features a new banner on their concert highlights mentioning tickets for Zaragoza on sale "very soon" and local newspaper Heraldo publishing a new article with more detailed info.

What is missing, again, is an official confirmation from Madonna.com.

The concert should take place on July 25 and the venue will be the Feria de Muestras - the Zaragoza Fair site from the 2008 Expo.

The first venue to be taken under consideration for the concert, La Romareda, was scrapped because of the size of the Madonna stage, which would have occupied one entire side of the stadium limiting its capacity to 40.000 people only.

The open air venue at the Zaragoza Fair will allow promoters to sell 52,500 tickets - with the price range announced by the press - and not yet officially confirmed - being the cheapest for Madonna in Spain this year:

Fronf of Stage: 89 €
Pista A: 61 €
Pista B: 43 €
VIP Reserved Seat: 257 €
